Paul Bartlett is a professional artist based in Fife, Scotland.

He is a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and was their "Birdwatch/Swarovski Artist of
the Year" in 2006. He has twice been a category winner and overall runner-up in the David
Shepherd "Wildlife Artist of the Year" competition in 2009 and 2010, and winner of the
'British Birds' category for the "BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year" in 2009. His work has
featured in numerous art publications and several books.

Variety and experimentation are the main emphases of Paul's artistic approach. He seeks to
continually find innovative techniques and styles in which to depict his subjects whilst retaining
an element of authenticity. The unique eye-catching style is the cumulative result of his
experimentation with technique and mediums, combining collage or papier mache with acrylics,
pastels, charcoal, sand or even tea! He often uses pertinent publications for his works which
educate the viewer on issues of the ecology or conservation of the subject.

Paul has held major solo exhibitions throughout the UK, and the US. He has spent the last 8
months preparing work for a solo show in La Rochelle, France, where he currently lives.

Painting for a living allows Paul the time and opportunity to enjoy his passion for nature and the
outdoors. His other pastimes include climbing mountains and kayaking. He lives in
St Andrews with his partner and their three children.
